Exterior remodeling on a Paradise Valley acre lot
Paradise Valley incorporated in 1961, in part so residents could hold zoning to a minimum of one house per acre, and most of the town is still zoned R-43, with lots of at least an acre. Settlement didn't really begin until after World War II, so its houses are post-war or newer.
A large, spread-out house can have a lot of roof edge, and every foot of wood fascia is a foot to repaint. Wrapping it in aluminum ends that, and vinyl soffit closes open eaves; see soffit and fascia.
Hillside lots and the Town's review
Mummy Mountain rises in the middle of town, and Camelback Mountain forms its southern edge. On hillside lots, the Town's Hillside Building Committee has to approve construction and remodeling plans, and the Town also approves painting and roofing.
The committee's application asks for exterior colors that blend with the natural surroundings and have a light reflective value of 38% or less, shown on board-mounted samples. If your lot is in the hillside area, call the Town before you choose trim or paint colors, and ask us for trim samples early. Not sure whether your street has an HOA with its own design rules? The Town's website has a map of its homeowners associations.
Shade and the rest of the house
Shade for a pool deck, a barbecue area or a seating area can come from an aluminum cover or alumi-lattice (patio covers), with no wood to keep painted. Inside, we also remodel kitchens and baths.

Paradise Valley questions
Does the Town have to approve painting on a hillside home?
Yes. The Town's resident guide says painting, roofing, walls and landscaping on hillside lots need Town approval. Check with the Town first.
Can you wrap fascia on a roofline with a lot of angles?
Yes. The crew forms each piece on a metal brake at the house, so every run and corner is measured and bent to fit.
